Parcels Manager – Christchurch

About the role

Team Global Express is seeking a Parcels Manager to lead the day‑to‑day performance of its Christchurch parcels operation. This hands‑on leadership position ensures freight moves safely and efficiently while supporting the team to meet high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily parcels operational planning, execution and labour deployment.
• Manage freight flow, operational priorities and performance against service, safety, productivity and quality KPIs.
• Coach, support and develop team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with operational processes such as scanning, labelling, endorsements and dangerous‑goods requirements.
• Identify safety risks and compliance issues, driving corrective actions.
• Partner with Transport, Customer Service, Claims and site leaders to achieve DIFOT outcomes.
• Provide clear operational updates and contribute to site leadership routines.

Required profile

• Hands‑on operational leader with experience in parcels, courier or time‑critical freight environments.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead people and drive performance.
• Strong focus on safety, service quality and continuous improvement.
• Clean Class 1 NZ driver’s licence; willingness to obtain DG and OSH forklift licences if not already held.
