Mechanical Design Coordinator

About the role

Join a leading specialist heavy‑machinery manufacturer as a Mechanical Design Coordinator. Based in Rotorua, you will support the engineering design team by delivering all necessary documentation from concept through to production, allowing designers to focus on core mechanical work.

Key responsibilities

• Generate complete drawing packs and design documentation for new projects.
• Create new parts, bills of materials (BOMs) and maintain accurate records.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and oversee ERP system updates.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing drawings.
• Analyse existing processes, recommend improvements and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering (preferred).
• Proven design experience with heavy‑machinery plant, including work with BOMs, ECOs and ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills, self‑starter attitude and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor.
• Experience with ERP system management.
• Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes.
