Manager – Personal Banking Non‑Financial Risk

About the role

The Manager – Personal Banking NFR will lead first‑line non‑financial risk management for ANZ New Zealand’s Personal Banking division. You will partner with business units to identify, assess and monitor risks across daily operations, projects and change initiatives, ensuring a strong risk culture and effective controls.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end non‑financial risk management, including risk identification, control effectiveness, governance and reporting.
• Provide risk advisory across projects, change programmes and business‑as‑usual activities, applying a risk lens to delivery.
• Conduct risk assessments, evaluate controls, oversee implementation and capture lessons learned.
• Prepare risk analysis, insights and thematic reporting for governance forums and senior decision‑making.
• Review control design, identify gaps and drive remediation planning and delivery.
• Support regulatory and policy change impact assessments and oversee implementation activities.
• Collaborate with specialist risk teams to deliver insights across processes, systems, data and customer journeys.
• Build risk capability within the business by sharing practical advice, guidance and insights.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of core non‑financial risk concepts and frameworks.
• Experience delivering risk management in a banking or financial services environment.
• Ability to analyse complex risk information and communicate findings clearly.
• Proven capability to work collaboratively with business and change stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of building risk culture and capability.
