Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at the Belfast site in North Christchurch. In this trade‑focused position you will ensure the reliability and performance of plant equipment within a busy food production environment, supporting both day and night shift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical repairs and routine maintenance across all production assets.
• Execute planned maintenance to maximise plant performance and minimise equipment failures.
• Respond swiftly to breakdowns, restoring equipment safely to full operating capacity.
• Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and drive systems.
• Support installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with food safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Record maintenance activities accurately in site systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture through hazard identification, isolation procedures and permit systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement and problem‑solving initiatives.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified engineer with experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or processing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving approach.
• Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across production and engineering teams.
• Dependable, proactive and motivated to improve equipment reliability.
