Maintenance Electrician

About the role

Silver Fern Farms is seeking a motivated Maintenance Electrician to join the engineering team at its Takapau lamb processing site. The role focuses on day‑to‑day electrical reliability, repairs and maintenance across a large industrial food‑processing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on electrical reliability improvements, repairs and routine maintenance on plant equipment.
• Identify faults, analyse root causes and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Work both independently and as part of the maintenance team, planning and prioritising workload in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Relevant trades qualification with NZ EWRB Electrical registration.
• Experience in FMCG or comparable production environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, self‑motivated attitude.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) operation.
• Electrical maintenance and repair on industrial equipment.
