Library Communications Assistant (Fixed‑term, Part‑time)

About the role

Join the Library Communications Team to help migrate the current website content to a new platform. This fixed‑term, part‑time position runs from July to November 2026 and offers the chance to shape how library services and stories are presented online.

Key responsibilities

• Audit, review and edit existing website content for clarity, accuracy and relevance.
• Prepare and structure content for migration to the new website.
• Apply brand guidelines and the Waimakariri Libraries style guide to maintain a consistent voice.
• Use content design and UX writing principles to improve usability and accessibility.
• Support a clear and intuitive information architecture.
• Ensure all content meets web accessibility standards.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Writing, Creative Communication (web coordination/management) or a NZ Diploma in Web Development and Design.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Experience in content design or UX writing.
• Strong audience awareness and ability to write for diverse users.
• Appreciation for te ao Māori and commitment to bicultural practice.
