Lead Full Stack Developer (Microsoft Stack) – Contract

About the role
Theta is seeking an experienced Lead Full Stack Developer to head a team delivering modern web solutions for a range of New Zealand clients. The role focuses on the Microsoft technology stack and involves close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of developers in designing, building and deploying web applications.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, translating requirements into technical solutions.
- Architect and implement APIs using ASP.NET, Azure Functions and API Management.
- Set up, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Ensure code quality, security and performance across the full stack.
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices and automation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban) and promote continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of commercial experience with the Microsoft stack (.NET/.NET Core, C#, MS SQL).
- Strong front‑end experience with Angular 10+, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proven experience delivering web‑application APIs and Azure‑based solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in customer‑facing, pre‑sales or project‑lead interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead development teams.
- Hands‑on experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and build/test automation.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
