Kitchen Assistant – University Food Service

About the role
The University of Otago’s Campus and Collegiate Life Services is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the busy Hayward College food service team. You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and support meal service for students and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in line with the HACCP program.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment promptly.
- Assist with meal service during peak periods.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks as required.
- Adapt to possible relocation to another university college on the Dunedin campus if needed.
Required profile
- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
- Availability for a permanent, full‑time position from February to November (40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday).
- Commitment to uphold food safety standards.
Required skills
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety procedures.
