Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Join the kitchen team at Summerset Palms Village and play a vital part in delivering nutritious, high‑quality meals to residents and visitors. As a Kitchen Assistant you will support chefs and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, cleanly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Help with plating and presentation of meals.
• Operate dishwashers and ensure all kitchenware is properly sanitised.
• Maintain clean, organised and compliant kitchen areas.
• Receive, unpack and store deliveries, including stock rotation.

Required profile

• Approachable, reliable and a strong team player.
• Previous hospitality or kitchen experience preferred.
• Friendly, can‑do attitude with good communication skills.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work a 4‑days‑on, 2‑days‑off roster with varying days each week.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation.
• Dishwashing operation.
• Stock handling and rotation.
