International Business Development Manager – Growth & Accounts

About the role

KiwiRail Passenger is expanding its international footprint and seeks an experienced International Business Development Manager to drive new revenue streams across tourism and trade markets. Reporting to the International Trade Sales Manager, you will focus on acquiring new partner accounts and expanding existing relationships to grow passenger revenue for Interislander and Great Journeys New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and win new international trade partners in priority markets.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Prospect proactively, negotiate agreements and support commercial discussions.
• Represent KiwiRail Passenger at industry events, trade missions and partner meetings.
• Grow revenue from existing partner accounts through strategic account plans.
• Analyse market trends, gaps and opportunities to increase bookings and yield.
• Maintain disciplined sales forecasting and pipeline management using CRM data.
• Provide market intelligence and customer insights to inform strategy.

Required profile

• Proven business development professional with a hunter mindset.
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or related commercial roles.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Comfortable working in an international tourism and trade environment.
