Intermediate Software Engineer - Internal Platform & AI Enablement

About the role

Rhapsody is looking for a high‑performing Intermediate Software Engineer to become the first dedicated member of its Internal Platform and AI Enablement function. Based in Auckland, you will help turn AI experimentation into organisational capability by improving the systems, workflows, and guardrails that enable engineers to build, verify, ship, and support software more effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve internal platform components that support AI‑assisted software development.
• Streamline local development, CI/CD pipelines, testing, release, and production support processes.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineers to set direction, priorities, and best practices for the function.
• Increase engineering throughput while maintaining high quality, security, and ethical standards.
• Provide clear engineering workflows and reliable feedback loops for both humans and AI tools.

Required profile

• Mid‑level software engineering experience with a track record of shipping reliable code.
• Strong interest in AI tools and how they can augment engineering productivity.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence the evolution of internal platforms.
• Local residency in Auckland, New Zealand.

Required skills

• Software development (design, coding, testing).
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimisation.
• Testing, release management, and production support.
• Experience with internal platform or tooling development is a plus.
