Intermediate & Senior Transmission Line Engineer – Christchurch

About the role

Groundline Engineering is seeking both Intermediate and Senior Transmission Line Engineers to join its Christchurch team. You will work on major transmission and renewable energy projects, delivering practical solutions for critical infrastructure across New Zealand and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Design overhead transmission lines, including tower, pole and foundation analysis.
• Develop construction staging plans and manage line upgrades or asset replacement projects.
• Perform detailed modelling using PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE and PLS‑TOWER.
• Mentor junior engineers (Senior role) and collaborate with experienced specialists (Intermediate role).
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to project delivery from concept to completion.

Required profile

• Qualified civil or electrical engineer with experience in transmission line design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• For Senior role: proven leadership experience on large‑scale projects.
