Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Generalist will lead all core HR functions for our New Zealand operations, aligning local practices with the broader ANZ Dealers HR strategy. You will act as the primary HR partner for NZ leaders, supporting workforce planning, culture, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and embed the ANZ Dealers HR strategy within New Zealand, ensuring alignment with AU‑led frameworks.
• Provide strategic HR advice to NZ leadership, analyse people data and support organisational planning.
• Drive culture, engagement and internal communication initiatives, including employee recognition and long‑service milestones.
• Oversee end‑to‑end talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning and capability‑building.
• Maintain HR systems (Oracle), master data, employee records and support payroll processes.
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand employment legislation, the Privacy Act, Immigration NZ requirements and ANZ HR policies.
• Manage employee relations matters such as disciplinaries, investigations, performance improvement plans, restructures and redundancy consultations.
• Support blue‑collar and operational workforces, handling overtime, allowances and leave reconciliation.

Required profile

• Strong HR generalist expertise with proven experience leading HR operations.
