Health & Safety Advisor

About the role

Pact Group's Albany manufacturing site is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to partner with leaders and frontline teams. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will be a member of the site Senior Leadership Team and a visible, trusted safety partner. The role works closely with the Quality Manager, Engineering and Operations to shape safety priorities and influence business decisions, coaching teams and strengthening safety ownership in a practical manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and frontline teams to strengthen safety ownership and capability
• Maintain and continuously improve site HSE systems, standards and reporting
• Lead audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
• Identify critical risks and help put effective, practical controls in place
• Support machinery safety, contractor management and environmental compliance
• Coordinate HSE training, employee participation and the Site Health & Safety Committee
• Build relationships across the site to turn improvement opportunities into action

Required profile

• A New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4), or a relevant equivalent qualification
• At least three years' experience in a health and safety role, ideally in manufacturing or another operational environment
• Strong working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and HSE management systems
• Understanding of AS/NZS 4024 machinery safety standards and compliance with them
• Confidence to coach, influence and constructively challenge people at all levels

Required skills
