Head of Science – Lead Science Faculty (IGCSE & A Level)

About the role

Crimson Global Academy is seeking a Head of Science to lead its Science faculty across IGCSE and A Level programmes. This senior leadership position will shape strategic direction, ensure high academic standards and drive the integration of new technologies, including AI, into online science education.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Science department, managing teachers in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Oversee curriculum design and delivery for Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International IGCSE and A Level Science qualifications.
• Set and uphold standards for teaching quality, assessment, feedback and student progress.
• Drive academic excellence and stretch students working ahead of their year level.
• Champion thoughtful integration of AI and other technologies into science teaching and learning.
• Coach, mentor and develop teachers through observation, feedback and targeted professional development.
• Contribute to whole‑school leadership, strategy and decision‑making.
• Engage with parents, students and prospective families to communicate the strength of CGA’s science offering.
• Contribute to extracurricular life through clubs, competitions, Olympiads or enrichment activities.
• Help maintain the pastoral culture that keeps students safe, included and supported.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher holding current New Zealand teaching registration.
• Significant secondary teaching experience in Science, with deep expertise in at least one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
• Proven departmental or faculty leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of IGCSE and A Level Science curricula, ideally across Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International.
