General Manager Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a General Manager to lead a significant distribution business in New Zealand. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be based on‑site in either Auckland or Hamilton and will be responsible for shaping strategy, building capability and delivering sustainable, profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the New Zealand distribution operation.
• Develop and execute long‑term strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing team to enhance capability across the business.
• Drive commercial decisions that improve profitability and market share.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to translate strategic plans into measurable results.
• Oversee supply‑chain efficiency and logistics processes.
• Manage relationships with key customers and suppliers.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in distribution, logistics or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Strategic thinker capable of turning plans into actionable outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
