General Manager – Commercial

About the role

The General Manager – Commercial will own revenue, margin and overall commercial performance for Zempire Camping across New Zealand and Australia, while contributing to the brand’s global strategy. Reporting to the executive team, this senior leader will integrate sales, marketing, e‑commerce and retail functions to deliver a seamless, high‑performing customer journey.

Key responsibilities

• Drive commercial performance, including revenue, margin and channel outcomes across NZ and AU.
• Lead an integrated go‑to‑market approach across wholesale and direct‑to‑consumer channels.
• Align sales, marketing, e‑commerce and retail teams to achieve connected commercial results.
• Provide commercial frameworks, insights and support to international markets.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing commercial leadership team.
• Partner with supply chain, product and finance to synchronize delivery and planning.
• Act as second‑in‑command (2IC) for the leadership team when required.

Required profile

• 10+ years of commercial leadership experience in a product or consumer‑focused business.
• Proven track record of owning revenue, margin and P&L performance.
• Experience managing both wholesale (B2B) and direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) channels.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into measurable performance.
• Comfort operating at senior level in complex, multi‑market environments.
