Floor Manager – Freight Processing Operations

About the role

New Zealand Post is looking for a Floor Manager to support its Operations Leader in managing freight processing operations at the Auckland Operations Centre, East Tamaki, using the automated sorter. The role involves working on the processing floor with and leading teams, alongside the Operations Manager, to implement and manage the operational plan so that productivity and service targets are met. The shift is Sunday to Thursday, Sunday 11:30-20:00 and Monday to Thursday 14:00-22:30.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example on safety and wellbeing, building a 'Safety Always' culture in day-to-day operations.
• Handle people leadership functions: rostering, performance management, coaching and development, and coordinating training.
• Lead the processing team on the shift they are responsible for.
• Ensure production plans are delivered and productivity and service targets are met.

Required profile

• Supervisory experience gained in a processing, manufacturing and/or logistics environment.
• Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a logistics or warehouse setting.
• Strong leadership skills, able to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand; appointees undergo a security and drivers licence check and a drug test.
