Financial Services Lawyer

About the role

Chapman Tripp’s national Financial Services practice is seeking an intermediate to senior lawyer to join its high‑performing team. You will advise a range of prestigious financial and corporate sector clients on regulatory and transactional matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise fintechs, banks, insurers, KiwiSaver schemes and other financial advisers on regulatory issues, including AI and blockchain.
• Support high‑profile transactions by handling the financial services regulatory aspects.
• Assist clients in developing new financial products and services, such as payment platforms and derivatives.
• Contribute to the team’s thought leadership and market commentary.

Required profile

• 4 to 10+ years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a large law firm, in‑house legal department or regulator.
• Exposure to financial services, investment funds, securities law or insurance law, or a primary background in corporate, finance, tax or litigation with a desire to develop financial services expertise.
