Solicitor – Restructuring and Insolvency

About the role

This is a non‑litigation solicitor position within a top‑tier restructuring and insolvency practice in Auckland. You will work on varied, high‑value advisory and transactional matters alongside a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Act for insolvency practitioners on formal appointments and distressed M&A transactions.
• Assist banks and creditors with security, enforcement, inter‑creditor and priority issues, balance‑sheet structuring and restructuring exercises.
• Provide commercial and strategic advice across debt, property, corporate and commercial transactions.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years' post‑qualification experience in private practice in New Zealand or another Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Experience in negotiated debt, property, corporate or commercial transactions with exposure to security work.
• Interest in insolvency and restructuring, with a generalist mindset and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the PPSA and Property Law Act in a security context.
• Ability to handle security, inter‑creditor, and enforcement matters.
