Finance Manager – Manufacturing (FMCG/Food/Dairy)

About the role

We are looking for a strategic Finance Manager to lead the full‑cycle financial and accounting functions of a large‑scale manufacturing plant in New Zealand. The role combines budget ownership, tax compliance, risk management and cost‑control initiatives to drive operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger, cost accounting and monthly close to ensure data accuracy.
• Establish and maintain financial systems and internal controls in line with Group and New Zealand regulations.
• Oversee New Zealand tax compliance, cash‑flow management and bank reconciliations.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis for senior decision‑making.
• Partner with production and sales teams to identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, banking partners and local authorities.
• Drive digitalisation by implementing financial IT tools such as SAP or U9 to automate workflows.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in New Zealand.
• Background in large‑scale manufacturing, preferably FMCG, food or dairy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and relevant professional qualification.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
