Finance Manager

About the role

Clayton Hops is seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to build a scalable finance function from a largely manual base. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board, you will shape financial processes, provide commercial insight, and drive automation while enjoying the lifestyle of Nelson.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement finance systems that support multi‑currency trade, three tax jurisdictions (NZ, US, AU) and offshore inventory management.
• Prepare management accounts, board packs, budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow statements and funding plans.
• Oversee multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance and group consolidation across two companies and farm operations.
• Integrate and optimise Shopify, Xero and Salesforce to eliminate manual data handling.
• Lead and develop the Assistant Accountant, continuously improving the finance function as the business grows.
• Provide fast, commercial answers to senior leadership with clear financial visibility.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with senior finance experience across multiple countries and currencies.
• Background in export, FMCG, agribusiness or manufacturing is highly relevant.
• Commercially minded, decisive and comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build processes, identify automation opportunities and see projects through to completion.
