Finance, Economics & Analytics Manager – Consulting

About the role

PwC New Zealand is seeking a Manager to join its Finance, Economics and Analytics team within Consulting, based in Wellington. This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position for 18 months, working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead consulting projects across various industries, delivering practical financial, economic and strategic advice.
• Review and guide financial analysis, cost‑benefit analysis, forecasting, valuations, feasibility assessments and economic impact analysis.
• Design and oversee financial models, forecasts and data analysis to produce clear, actionable insights.
• Coach and support junior team members, building capability and ensuring quality.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve high‑quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate, government or consulting environments with a focus on financial, commercial, economic or advisory work.
• Experience in a professional services environment or Big 4 is advantageous.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; postgraduate qualifications and CFA or CA preferred.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Advanced Excel capability; VBA macro experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of economic principles and quantitative methods.
