Farm Assistant - Casual

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Casual Farm Assistant to join our supportive team at the Pāmu Moutoa complex. The role is drive‑in/drive‑out, offering flexible hours that fit around other commitments. You will work alongside experienced staff, gaining hands‑on experience across a range of dairy farm activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with milking and operation of milking equipment.
• Support calf‑rearing and general animal handling tasks.
• Maintain fences and perform basic fence repairs.
• Carry out weed control and other routine farm duties.
• Provide extra help during busy periods or when staff are absent.

Required profile

• Reliable, willing to learn and comfortable working as part of a team.
• Enjoy practical, outdoor work and have a positive, safety‑focused attitude.
• Good attention to detail and confidence to ask questions when unsure.
• Hold a restricted or full driver’s licence and have reliable transport.
• Some dairy experience is helpful, but a genuine interest in learning is essential.
