eCommerce Engineer – Specialist (Hub Services)

About the role

Join AMI’s Hub Services team as a Specialist eCommerce Engineer and shape the online experience for thousands of New Zealand customers. You will work on our Shopify ecosystem, ensuring digital storefronts are reliable, fast, and continuously improving.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance and optimise eCommerce platforms and supporting web applications.
• Develop responsive front‑end solutions using React, Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Build and support API‑based integrations with systems such as ServiceNow.
• Implement new Shopify apps, React components and third‑party integrations.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues across front‑end and integration layers.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, operations and technology teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Support discovery and early scoping for new services and enhancements.

Required profile

• Experience developing and maintaining Shopify platforms, including themes and configuration.
• Strong front‑end development skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Shopify Liquid.
• Confidence working with API‑based integrations and solving multi‑system challenges.
• Understanding of eCommerce best practices such as UX, SEO and conversion optimisation.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn new technologies.
