Digital Performance & Optimisation Lead

About the role

Mercury is seeking a Digital Performance & Optimisation Lead to join its Digital Sales & Marketing Platform team in Tauranga. You will be the data‑driven champion who turns insights from our digital channels into concrete actions that boost commercial results and improve the online experience for Kiwis.

Key responsibilities

• Own the digital performance measurement framework, including tracking, dashboards and insight reporting.
• Lead conversion optimisation and experimentation programmes across sales, cross‑sell and self‑service journeys.
• Develop content, landing‑page and personalisation strategies that increase conversion rates.
• Guide organic search strategy and AI‑search optimisation.
• Partner with agencies and internal marketing teams to enhance paid‑media performance across social, programmatic and SEM.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in digital analytics, optimisation or performance, preferably in a consumer‑facing environment.
• Hands‑on experience designing, analysing and delivering commercial outcomes from conversion tests.
• Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable stories for both technical and business audiences.

Required skills

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager, including data‑layer design.
• Conversion optimisation and A/B testing methodology.
• Marketing automation, CMS and CRM/CDP platforms.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Looker or Power BI.
