About the role
The AI Acceleration Centre at Auckland University of Technology is seeking a hands‑on Developer to build and prototype high‑impact solutions that enhance digital experiences for students and staff. You will work in a fast‑moving environment, turning ideas into working products quickly while collaborating with experienced engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable APIs, integrations and cloud‑based applications within AUT’s architecture standards.
- Rapidly prototype new concepts, test with users and iterate to deliver functional solutions.
- Contribute to solution design, code reviews and continuous improvement of development practices.
- Own components from inception through production, ensuring high quality and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to explore AI‑assisted development and cloud‑native technologies.

- Passionate about building and experimenting with modern software tools.
- Enjoys moving from concept to working product quickly.
- Comfortable working in a supportive, innovative team environment.
