Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

One NZ is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support daily operations of its cyber security services. You will help protect the organisation from cyber threats by implementing and maintaining security measures across critical platforms and digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls to ensure a resilient environment.
• Maintain and monitor security event logs on critical assets.
• Develop security use cases through event‑log correlation with the Cyber Defence Centre.
• Support vulnerability management for on‑premise and cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor vulnerability scanning activities and drive remediation of identified threats.
• Manage health and performance of cyber security services to meet operational standards.
• Stay current with emerging cyber security trends, threats and technologies.
• Participate in an on‑call roster for 24/7 operational support.
• Configure and optimise security services in line with One NZ policies and SLAs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to report and escalate high‑risk vulnerabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in cyber security operations or a security engineering role.
