Consultant Psychiatrist – Expressions of Interest

About the role

We are seeking experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join our multidisciplinary mental health teams across the Wellington Region. The role offers flexible full‑time, part‑time or casual arrangements and involves providing assessment, intervention and education to a diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for inpatient, crisis, forensic, adult community and child/adolescent services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high‑quality care and promote wellbeing.
• Provide education and support to patients, families and community partners.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
• Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
• Relevant training and experience in psychiatry.
• Current driver’s licence.
