Consultant in Restorative Dentistry

About the role

The Edinburgh Dental Institute is seeking a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry to join its multidisciplinary team. This senior clinical position will involve delivering high‑quality patient care, contributing to teaching programmes and supporting research initiatives, particularly in Endodontics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical services in restorative dentistry and endodontic treatment.
• Develop and improve the Endodontic service to meet patient needs within available resources.
• Teach and mentor dental core trainees, specialist trainees and other staff.
• Participate in research projects and quality‑improvement activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure integrated patient care.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT or equivalent).
• Specialist training in restorative dentistry, preferably with experience in endodontics.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, teaching and research.
