Commercial Broker – Commercial Lines

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Commercial Broker to join its Affinity team in Auckland. The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week in the office, and focuses on delivering high‑quality service to both new and existing commercial insurance clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial business and support a Client Executive with larger accounts.
• Meet and exceed service standards defined in client service agreements.
• Proactively identify and triage new business opportunities within the existing client base.
• Work closely with insurer partners to negotiate favourable solutions for clients.
• Assist the Segment Leader in preparing, managing and achieving team business plans and goals.
• Adhere to Marsh quality practices and follow all internal procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in broking or underwriting, preferably with Commercial Lines.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational abilities to handle a high‑volume SME/scheme portfolio.
• Team‑player who builds solid relationships with colleagues, clients and industry partners.
• Willingness to learn, take on increased responsibilities and act on opportunities.
• New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
