Clinical Tutor - Nursing

About the role

Healthcare Academy of New Zealand (HANZ), a private training organisation delivering Enrolled Nurse education based in Auckland, is growing its academic team. It is looking for Registered or Enrolled Nurses with a passion for education and experience in rehabilitation, acute care, mental health and addiction. The Clinical Tutor supports learners in the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), both in the classroom and on clinical placements, working closely with the Clinical Placement Coordinator and workplace preceptors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching in face-to-face and online formats
• Facilitate clinical learning in real-world settings alongside preceptors
• Support learners to meet academic and clinical expectations
• Assess learner progress and readiness for final Nursing Council exams
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme improvement
• Collaborate with clinical partners to maintain high placement standards

Required profile

• Registered or Enrolled Nurse with a current NZ Practising Certificate
• Post-registration or postgraduate qualification in nursing or a related field
• At least 5 years of recent New Zealand nursing or clinical experience
• Experience supervising or supporting learners in clinical settings
• Adult teaching qualification, highly advantageous, or a programme completed within 2 years of employment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Prior tertiary or vocational teaching experience
• Understanding of Kaupapa Māori, mātauranga Māori and tikanga
• Valid New Zealand driver's licence
