Mathematics and Statistics Teacher

About the role

UP International College New Zealand is seeking an experienced and passionate Mathematics and Statistics Teacher to join its academic team in Auckland CBD. The role is full-time and permanent, with a strong numeracy focus on Mathematics and Statistics within university pathway programmes. Depending on experience, qualifications and subject expertise, there may also be opportunities to contribute to teaching and development across Business and Science disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Mathematics and Statistics courses
• Plan lessons, assessments and learning resources in line with programme requirements
• Assess student work and give timely, constructive feedback
• Monitor student progress, attendance and engagement
• Support students to develop study habits, independent learning skills and confidence
• Use technology and digital learning platforms to support learning
• Provide academic and pastoral support to students as required
• Work collaboratively with the wider academic team and contribute to programme development and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Ideally previous teaching experience at secondary or tertiary level
• A tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Statistics
• Advantageous: a qualification, teaching experience or subject knowledge in Business disciplines such as Accounting and/or Economics, or a Science background alongside Mathematics and Statistics
• Advantageous: experience working with international students and Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand registration or a Limited Authority to Teach
