Clinical Safety Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Safety Officer to join Dedalus’ global clinical safety team. Based in New Zealand with the option to work remotely or hybrid from Auckland, you will help make healthcare technology safer and more reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and review the Hazard Register and produce key clinical safety deliverables.
• Advise on mitigation strategies for identified clinical risks.
• Embed safety and regulatory requirements into the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with global regulations such as EU Medical Device Regulation (EU) 745/2017.
• Support registration and certification of Dedalus medical‑device and software products for global markets.
• Identify safety risks early in product development to reduce incidents, project delays and litigation risk.
• Review test outputs from a clinical perspective and escalate risks when necessary.

Required profile

• Registered clinician working within the healthcare sector.
• Proven experience at senior or management level in clinical safety or risk management.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and quality assurance processes.

Required skills

• Healthcare IT product knowledge.
• Familiarity with EU Medical Device Regulation (EU) 745/2017.
• Experience applying the Software Development Lifecycle to safety‑critical products.
