Clinical Nurse Specialist

About the role

Ormiston Hospital is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse to join the theatre services team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This senior role combines advanced clinical practice, staff development and service innovation within a modern private hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and clinical integration of the hospital’s robotic surgery programme.
• Coach and mentor nursing colleagues to raise capability and foster continuous learning.
• Drive quality‑improvement initiatives and collaborate with specialists to create advanced clinical pathways and protocols.
• Partner with leadership to optimise theatre resources while maintaining exceptional patient‑care standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with a valid New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and eligible to work in NZ.
• Minimum five years of recent post‑graduate experience in a surgical hospital environment.
• Experience with robotic surgery across multiple specialties.
• Post‑graduate certificate in clinical nursing practice (or progressing towards one) and ability to attain expert‑level PDRP.
