Category Management Intern – Retail Merchandising

About the role

Join the Merchandise Category team as a Category Intern and support the planning, pricing and promotion of products across PAK’nSAVE, New World and Four Square stores. You will work closely with a Category Manager, using data and insights to help grow your assigned category and support both internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Category Manager with marketing and promotional activity planning and recommendations.
• Run sales performance reports and build simple Excel templates to analyse results, trends and opportunities.
• Gather and summarise competitor activity to inform category decisions.
• Communicate product changes and updates with the wider team.
• Help manage promotional errors and support clear communication with stores when fixes are needed.

Required profile

• Curious, motivated and eager to learn retail merchandising and category management.
• Enjoys working with data and comfortable analysing information.
• Strong attention to detail.
