Casual Supervising Doctor – Advanced MRI Scans

About the role
We are seeking a qualified medical doctor to join the Centre for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI) on a casual basis. The role involves providing medical supervision for advanced MRI procedures that require contrast agents, sedation, or involve patients with implanted cardiac devices.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise MRI scans that involve contrast, medication, or implanted cardiac devices such as pacemakers.
- Obtain informed consent for the use of contrast agents or other drugs.
- Place intravenous lines and oversee administration of contrast agents.
- Monitor patients throughout the scan and provide emergency support, including advanced life support if required.
- Assist the consultant cardiologist during stress perfusion studies.
Required profile
- Current New Zealand Medical Practicing Certificate.
- Minimum three years post‑graduate medical training.
- Current professional indemnity insurance.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
Required skills
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) competence.
- IV cannulation and contrast administration.
- Medical supervision of MRI procedures involving cardiac devices.
