Casual Housekeeper & Laundry Assistant

About the role

Summerset is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join the team at its Manukau Village. This casual, on‑site position supports residents by maintaining clean, safe and welcoming living spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, kitchens and laundry facilities.
• Launder, fold and return residents’ clothing and linens with care.
• Label, mend and maintain personal laundry items as required.
• Support infection‑control measures and follow health and safety procedures.
• Build respectful relationships with residents, understanding their individual needs.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Pride in delivering detail‑oriented work.
• Physically fit and comfortable standing for long periods.
• Genuine interest in aged‑care; full training provided for those without experience.

Required skills

• Operating commercial laundry equipment.
• Following infection‑control and health‑safety protocols.
