Business Development Manager – Accounting & Franchise Sectors

About the role

Spotlight Reporting is seeking a high‑performing Business Development Manager to generate new business within the accounting, multi‑entity, and franchise sectors across New Zealand. The role can be full‑time or part‑time (2‑3 days per week) and reports to the APAC Sales Director.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and close new revenue opportunities across the target market.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline from marketing leads and cold outreach.
• Develop and execute a quarterly territory plan to increase brand awareness and sales.
• Represent Spotlight Reporting at industry events, conferences and networking meetings.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Education, Training and Support teams to ensure client retention.
• Forge partnerships with Xero, MYOB and other software providers.

Required profile

• Strategic, organised and proactive with strong lead‑generation capabilities.
• Tenacious, self‑motivated and results‑driven with a “no stone left unturned” mindset.
• Excellent communicator able to build trusted relationships with prospects and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across the allocated territory and meet prospects face‑to‑face.
