Banking Consultant – Customer Engagement

About the role

As a Banking Consultant in ANZ’s Tauranga and Bayfair branches, you will help customers with everyday banking tasks while building trusted relationships. The role focuses on delivering friendly, hands‑on support and guiding clients through simple and life‑changing financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist with a wide range of banking transactions.
• Listen to each customer’s needs, tailor service, and refer them to specialised business units when required.
• Introduce and demonstrate digital banking tools in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
• Guide customers through account openings, detail updates, and product explorations.
• Maintain compliance and safety standards in all banking activities.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and celebrate collective wins.

Required profile

• A warm, helpful nature with the ability to build trust quickly.
• Confidence using technology and a willingness to teach others.
• Curiosity to learn, openness to feedback, and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle multiple tasks.
• Experience in lending or credit assessment is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong relationship‑building and customer‑first communication style.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to pitch in where needed.
