Azure Cloud Operations Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to join a high‑performing cloud platform team supporting a large enterprise Azure environment in Auckland. The role is hands‑on, focusing on day‑to‑day operations, automation and continuous improvement of production cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise‑scale Azure environments.
• Assist with cloud migration, modernisation and Azure landing‑zone initiatives.
• Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions, primarily using Terraform.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and provide on‑call support.
• Contribute to platform reliability, performance, security and observability.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and stakeholders to drive automation and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure infrastructure (networking, security, compute, storage).
• Proven ability to support production cloud environments at enterprise scale.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Self‑sufficient, proactive and comfortable in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting.
