Asset Data Engineer

About the role

The Lines Company is seeking an Asset Data Engineer to join its Asset Information team. Reporting to the Asset Information Manager, you will design, build and maintain data integration solutions that support smarter network decisions across the utility’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain system integrations for asset and network data.
• Design, develop and support ETL workflows for relational and GIS datasets.
• Maintain ETL platforms such as FME and Python‑based tools.
• Enhance in‑house automation and data tools.
• Provide first‑line support for data integration and related software solutions.
• Support field data capture tools, data governance, and outage data quality reporting (SAIDI/SAIFI).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, integration or information management, preferably within asset management.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail and good communication skills.

Required skills

• ETL platforms: FME, SSIS or similar.
• Database and query languages: MS‑SQL, T‑SQL.
• Programming: Python, C#.NET.
• Data analysis and reporting: SQL, Power BI, Power Platform.
• Version control and DevOps: Git, Azure DevOps (desirable).
• GIS tools (desirable).
