Area Operations Manager - Wellington

About the role

Firth, part of the Fletcher Building Group, is looking for an experienced, customer-savvy operational leader to run a complex regional operation in Wellington. The role is not desk-based: you will partner with customers, coach leaders, solve challenges and shape the future of the Wellington business. You will lead teams across the region, build their capability and deliver strong financial, service and operational results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop high-performing operational teams across the Wellington region
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaged workplace culture
• Deliver strong financial, service and operational outcomes
• Drive continuous improvement across production, logistics and customer service
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors and key stakeholders
• Support change initiatives while keeping people informed, involved and supported
• Ensure operational excellence across safety, quality, compliance and fleet performance

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in logistics, transport, supply chain, manufacturing, construction materials or industrial operations
• Experience leading geographically dispersed or multi-site teams
• Strong commercial acumen, including managing budgets, costs and performance
• A collaborative leadership style that balances people, customers and commercial priorities
