Area Manager - Central

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and forward‑thinking Area Manager to lead a network of approximately 12 stores across Central New Zealand, from Rotorua to Blenheim. Reporting to the Senior Area Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales, profitability and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Drive store sales and profit growth to meet business budgets.
• Maintain best‑practice customer care standards across all stores.
• Develop and implement a people development strategy to support succession planning.
• Coach visual merchandising teams to achieve company standards.
• Ensure operational compliance, protect assets and uphold brand standards.
• Build strong relationships with head‑office partners and people partners.
• Recruit, coach, develop and manage high‑performing store teams.
• Visit stores regularly, provide clear actionable feedback and monitor performance.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities to improve profitability.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering service, sales and profit targets at field level.
• Minimum 2 years of field management experience, preferably in retail or a service sector.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Ability to analyse business results, spot trends and take decisive action.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
