AML Compliance Officer

About the role

Entain ANZ is looking for an experienced, commercially minded AML/CFT Compliance Officer to lead its Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism function in New Zealand. The role shapes and drives the AML/CFT strategy, strengthens risk and compliance frameworks and ensures regulatory obligations are met. It is an on-site position based in Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the AML team, giving clear direction, coaching and support.
• Own and oversee the AML/CFT compliance programme, keeping policies, processes, systems and controls effective and aligned with regulations.
• Drive risk management and assurance, including the AML/CFT risk assessment, independent audits and remediation.
• Report to senior leadership and the Board on AML/CFT risks, performance and compliance.
• Act as a key regulatory contact with the Department of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice and New Zealand Police.
• Oversee AML operations such as transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, suspicious activity investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Champion AML awareness and training.

Required profile

• Significant experience in AML/CFT, financial crime, risk or regulatory compliance, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
• At least 5 years' experience leading risk, compliance or financial crime teams.
• Proven experience overseeing complex investigations, regulatory reporting, assurance and compliance programmes.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, law, finance, compliance or a related discipline; additional professional qualifications highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of New Zealand AML/CFT legislation, regulatory expectations and risk management frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
