Senior Lawyer

About the role

The Senior Lawyer will provide timely, practical legal advice to ANZ Pacific, focusing on business changes and risk management. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to support the delivery of ANZ Pacific’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, commercially focused legal advice and promote a risk‑aware culture.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with product, risk and other business teams.
• Support business outcomes through pragmatic, timely and cost‑effective legal counsel.
• Coordinate with internal and external legal resources to ensure efficient delivery of legal support.

Required profile

• LLB and a current New Zealand Law Society Practising Certificate.
• At least five years post‑qualification experience in a top‑tier NZ or global firm, preferably in banking, finance or commercial law.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proven ability to deliver practical, commercial legal advice quickly and influence outcomes.
• Curious, pragmatic problem‑solving mindset with sound judgement.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
