AI Engineering Director

About the role

ClearPoint is seeking an AI Engineering Director to lead the creation and delivery of AI‑first software solutions. Reporting to the Chief Practice Officer, you will shape the company’s AI engineering practice, embed intelligent tooling across product teams and ensure high‑impact outcomes for our enterprise clients.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an AI‑first engineering roadmap, integrating agentic coding and AI tools into the software development lifecycle.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of engineers, handling recruitment, performance reviews and professional development.
• Provide technical direction on client engagements, from solution design through delivery oversight and pre‑sales support.
• Maintain billable responsibility, monitor project health and uphold quality standards across all AI practice engagements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align AI strategy with business objectives and drive measurable client value.

Required profile

• Proven track record of moving from hands‑on software development to senior engineering leadership.
• Extensive experience delivering complex solutions in mid‑to‑large enterprise environments.
• Strong people‑management skills, including hiring, coaching and handling performance conversations.
• Credibility with clients and ability to influence technical decisions in pre‑sales and delivery contexts.

Required skills

• Deep experience with the Microsoft technology stack.
• Hands‑on expertise in AI concepts, tools and implementation.
