About the role
We are seeking a current Judges’ Clerk to join our Wellington Litigation team as a year‑2 solicitor in 2027. The role offers the chance to work on complex public and commercial disputes, including contractual, tort, public law, climate change and constitutional matters, across High Court and appellate advocacy.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior partners in managing high‑stakes litigation matters from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions and written advocacy.
- Participate in mediation, arbitration and strategic risk‑management advice.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the national Litigation practice and provide support on appellate work.
- Engage with clients and develop commercial understanding of dispute resolution.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer currently employed as a Judges’ Clerk.
- Strong academic record and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Analytical ability and sound judgment.
- Interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
- Enthusiasm for litigation and a collaborative mindset.
