Territory Sales Manager – Companion Animal

About the role

Territory Sales Manager – Companion Animal is a permanent full‑time position with competitive remuneration, benefits and tools of trade such as a car, laptop and iPad. The role covers the Auckland region in New Zealand and is ideal for a passionate, motivated sales professional with an interest in companion animal health.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory plans, achieve sales targets and analyse customer data to optimise visits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinarians, clinic staff, wholesalers and other stakeholders.
• Identify promotional tactics, deliver technical and commercial training, and leverage the technical services team to drive sales.
• Record all customer interactions in the MAXX CRM system, manage complaints, pricing queries and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
• Monitor competitor activity, report insights to the Regional Sales Manager and adapt action plans accordingly.

Required profile

• Tertiary business or science degree preferred and a proven record of commercial success in sales.
• Strong relationship‑building, influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High flexibility, resilience, problem‑solving ability and the capacity to work independently.
• Excellent organisational skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Self‑starter who can make day‑to‑day decisions within normal business parameters.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Comfortable using iPad technology for sales activities.
• Experience with CRM systems, specifically MAXX.
