Technology Test Specialist

About the role

The Technology Test Specialist will join Airways’ Technology Group at the Christchurch campus on a permanent, full‑time basis. Reporting to the Technology Testing Team Leader, the role is responsible for delivering high‑quality testing outcomes that support the safe and reliable delivery of air navigation technology projects. Working in a regulated environment, the specialist will collaborate closely with project teams, technical experts and regulators to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute hands‑on testing activities across a range of systems and projects, applying established testing frameworks and practices.
• Validate that solutions meet functional and regulatory requirements, contributing to risk mitigation and compliance.
• Provide direction to contracted testing resources to ensure consistency with Airways’ testing standards.
• Document test results, report defects and work with developers to achieve resolution.
• Support the development and maintenance of testing procedures and documentation.

Required profile

• Permanent, full‑time availability based in Christchurch.
• Experience performing hands‑on testing of mission‑critical or safety‑critical systems.
• Ability to work within a regulated environment and liaise with regulators.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with project teams, technical specialists and subject‑matter experts.
